Aim:

This specialized session is aimed to provide a plat form to the international experts to elaborate their research findings and expertize in the field of Non-Point Source Pollution (NPSP) and share it with the end user and other parts of the world. These conferences are also an effort to communicate the outcome of scientific research for general understanding of public, students, legislators and industrialists. The co-ordination among various organizations working in this field of NPSP is also another important objective to be achieved. All of the presentations will be published in reputed journals and communicated to the quarters concerned.

Topics:

Prospective authors are encouraged to submit their work related, but not limited to, the following topics:
- Definition of soil and water Non-Point Source Pollution (NPSP); EPA standards
- Investigating the origin and sources
- Types, Chemistry and persistency of the pollutants
- Surface Water Pollution (SWP): contamination of water sheds, springs, hydrological units, rivers, streams, lakes, dams, reservoirs, near shore and wetlands
- Underground water pollution
- Concept of contamination free "E-water"
- Soil pollution and food chain contamination
- Quantifying the soil and water NPSP in measureable terms
- Types of NPSP of soil and water
- Modes/sources of the pollutants transport
- Identifying the major actors of contamination like industry, municipal wastes, city drains, mines and agriculture etc; Extent of contamination caused by each
- Damages caused to food quality and human and animal health
- Impact of NPSP on biodiversity, ecology and marine life
- Estimating the economics; Comparing estimated expenses of contaminants treatment/safe disposal verses health and food quality loss and the expenses occurred on remediation
- Legislation for controlling the pollution
- Remediation of contaminated soil and water
- Types and techniques of remediation
- Involvement of community and social sector
- Any success stories
