Title: "Knowledge Engineering Paradigms in Smart Education: Methodologies, Applications and Challenges"
Abstract: Knowledge engineering paradigms (KEPs) deal with the development of intelligent systems in which reasoning and knowledge play pivotal role. Regarding the reasoning mechanism, there are many approaches of reasoning e.g.; automated, spatial, temporal, commonsense, fuzzy, geometric, non-monotonic reasoning, model-based reasoning, probabilistic, causal reasoning, qualitative reasoning, and case-based reasoning . Regarding the knowledge base, there are many techniques for representing both static and heuristic knowledge, e.g.; semantic networks, scripts, If-then rules, ontology, and cases. Recently, KEPs receive increasing attention within the fields of education and learning. Researchers have been used the knowledge engineering (KE) techniques and methodologies to develop a smart tutoring and learning systems. Moreover, the convergence of artificial intelligence(AI) and web science is enabling the creation of a new generation of web-based smart systems for all educational and learning tasks. This talk discusses the KE and AI paradigms for developing the intelligent educational and smart Learning systems. Four most popular paradigms are discussed namely; case-based reasoning ,ontological engineering, data mining and intelligent agents. Moreover, the talk addresses the challenges faced by the application developers and knowledge engineers in developing and deploying such systems. In addition, the talk presents some cases of intelligent learning systems/tools developed by the author and his colleagues at Artificial intelligence and Knowledge Engineering Research Labs, Ain Shams University, AIKE Labs-ASU, Cairo, Egypt.

Title: "Exploring the Impact of the Artificial Intelligence Technologies in the Learning Process"
Abstract: In recent years, schools are involved in developing new strategies to improve the learning process in higher education, and consequently they have been focusing on increasing the variety of support offered to students with disabilities for a more inclusive learning environment. The growth in the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in education raises questions about how the new technologies can support an inclusive learning approach. This research is based on the use of some AI softwares that it is possibile to use for managing the student's motivation in order to promote effective, active, efficient and satisfactory learning. In particular, an attempt was made to consider the strengths of dyslexic students in order to mitigate their weaknesses.
